Narrabri Shire Council is hosting an International Women’s Day Breakfast Celebrating Rural Women in STEM Industries.

International Women’s Day and NSW Women’s Week will be celebrated with a free breakfast event hosted by Narrabri Shire Council on Tuesday, 8 March 2022. Register via Eventbrite by 2 March 2022 as tickets are limited.
The event will be held at The Crossing Theatre with the theme Celebrating Rural Women in STEM Industries and will feature MCs Ali Smith and Katie Watson along with guest speakers Rebecca Shepard, Eliza Dampney, Naomi Nielson and Jillian Kilby.
Rebecca Shepard is a Research Associate for The University of Sydney Plant Breeding Institute and is a strong advocate for the valuable role of women in the agricultural industry.
Eliza Dampney is a secondary student and member of Narrabri Shire Youth Council who aims to encourage other youth to consider opportunities within STEM industries.
Naomi Nielson is the Project Director of the University of England STEM Precinct and believes in economic empowerment and education.
Jillian Kilby has held engineering, management, public policy and leadership positions in Australia and the USA and is the founder and Managing Director of The Exchange, which is expanding to Narrabri in 2022.
