DESCRIPTION:Whilst Robert talks about the life and times of JMW Turner\, Catherine will take to the easel with oil paint\, rags\, scrapers and brush to give us a glimpse of Turner’s style and technique. Turner was a fascinating character; secretive\, driven\, penny pinching and generous\, chaotic in his private life and fiercely patriotic. He is regarded as one of the greatest nineteenth century painters\, and his works are exhibited in galleries the world over. His likeness appears on the twenty-pound note\, a tribute that would have appealed to his vanity but contradicted his inherent need for anonymity. \nIn 1976 Robert was appointed as a Lecturer in Theatre at the University of Southern Queensland. Over the next thirty-three years Robert taught acting and directed dozens of plays for the university. Robert has several published books and plays\, and is currently working on an illustrated children’s book with his artist wife\, Catherine. \nTime and Location: The Crossing Theatre\, Narrabri\, arrivals at 6.30pm for 7pm start

The day starts at 11am\, and will finish at 6PM to cover capturing sunsets. The workshop will cover the general concepts of digital photography from: \nTeaching people the ISO / Shutter / Aperture setup \nComposition rules and principals and all things in between \nGetting out of the \”automatic\” mode on their cameras and dive into into manual shooting \nGetting out and about in Wee Waa to take photos \nSome theory and practical exercises\, presentations\, and a review of work captured throughout the day\, including basic editing if time permits \nPhotography styles to include landscapes\, portraits and still life (plus any other topic time will permit). SUMMARY:AWC Pilliga Feral Predator-Free Area Open Day
DESCRIPTION:For the first time\, visitors will have the opportunity to step inside the Australian Wildlife Conservancy (AWC) and NSW National Parks and Wildlife\’s Pilliga Feral Predator-Free fenced area on Thursday 15 September 2022 with a public tour. \nThe day tour will take visitors through part of the largest consolidated block of forest and woodland in western NSW where they will see and learn how Australia has the worst mammal extinction rate in the world\, largely due to the impact of feral cats and foxes on our wildlife. \nVisitors will hear from AWC’s dedicated field ecologists and land managers about the reintroduction program and how the feral predator-free area is helping to prevent further extinctions and promote the recovery of our most susceptible species. \nAWC staff will be on hand to outline the operation including looking after the fence\, monitoring the environment\, and eradicating feral predators within the Pilliga’s fenced area. If they’re lucky\, visitors may even catch a glimpse of a Bridled Nailtail Wallaby as it hops around in search of its next meal. \nThe tour will depart on Thursday 15 September 2022 at 9.00am with a maximum capacity of 40 people. \nTickets include a return bus trip from Narrabri\, a tour of the Pilliga’s fenced area with an allocated AWC field ecologist guide\, a walk through the breeding area and lunch. \nRegistrations close on 4 September 2022 or when tickets are exhausted. Participants will meet at the Narrabri Region Visitor Information Centre car park on Tibbereena Street (Newell Highway)\, Narrabri\, 30 minutes before the bus leaves Narrabri. \nTo purchase tickets\, refer to AWC\’s booking instructions then click here to book.

The Russian capital\, Moscow\, the historic seat of power with its impressive and world-famous landmarks like St Basils\, the Kremlin and Red Square\, and Saint Petersburg\, founded by Peter the Great as an artfully planned statement city of style and sophistication and doorway to the West. St Petersburg would for a time serve as capital of Russia\, but Moscow with its long historical pedigree would always hold that special status. The focus of Peter the Great was a new vision for Russia\, and he determined that his new city\, St Petersburg\, would be unlike any other in his vast realm. \nKenneth Park is passionate about art\, architecture\, and cultural history. He has been able to combine this passion with his love of travel. On average\, he would spend over half the year travelling as a tour leader/host for a wide range of tourism related organisations.
